How It Works

Sensors On Your Ice.
Reports In Minutes.

A portable measurement system that comes to your rink, runs during your own tryouts and practices, and gives your coaches numbers they can act on — without your association buying equipment or your staff learning software.

Pro-Level Measurement.
Community Access.

Drive Hockey is the sensor platform used by scouts and development programs at the junior and professional level. As the authorized Alberta distributor, Ice Cold Analytics brings that same system to associations, academies and leagues across the province.

Accessible means accessible. Your association buys no hardware, signs no software licence and hires no technical staff. We bring the system, set it up in about 15 minutes, and operate it ourselves while your coaches run the ice exactly as they planned to.

No guesswork. No subjectivity. Just data — captured during your real tryouts, practices and games.

What the Platform Delivers

20+
Skating metrics measured automatically per athlete
15min
Setup time at your rink — nothing for your staff to operate
30
Athletes measured simultaneously in a single session

The Same Standard
For Every Skater

Every athlete in your program is measured the same way, on the same ice, under the same conditions. That consistency is what makes the results defensible when a coach, a parent or a board asks how a decision was reached.

  • Top speed — peak velocity reached across the session
  • Acceleration — first-step quickness and burst off the line
  • Agility — tight turns, crossovers and direction changes
  • Deceleration — stopping power and edge control
  • Conditioning — work rate and output across extended shifts
  • Force output — power generated through the skating stride
  • Benchmarks — every score ranked against peers in the same age group

Fitness Meets
Ice Intelligence

Beyond skating skills, Drive Hockey captures conditioning data that shows how an athlete's performance changes as fatigue sets in — a dimension of player development that's nearly impossible to evaluate with the naked eye.

Understanding how an athlete's mechanics degrade under fatigue is one of the most valuable insights a coach or trainer can have. The platform makes it measurable.

A Portable Rink System
That Comes To You

Nothing gets installed and nothing gets left behind. The Smart Arena travels to your rink, runs on its own network, and packs up when the session ends. Once we calibrate your rink, it stays calibrated for every future visit.

How It All Works

01

Setup

We arrive early and set up the Smart Arena around your rink glass. About 15 minutes, and nothing for your staff to do.

02

Player Tag

Sensors strap to shoulder pads and are pre-assigned to each player profile before the group hits the ice.

03

AI Capture

Your coaches run the session as planned. We operate the system and stay out of the way while the data is captured.

04

Reports Out

Every athlete is benchmarked against their age group and delivered as a single-page development report.

This Is What You
Hand The Parents

One page per athlete after every session. Measured strengths, honest development areas and specific training focus — delivered under your program's name. Parents who receive this stop asking whether the evaluation was fair and start asking what their kid should work on.
