Our Story

Built by a Former Player.
Powered by Data.

Ice Cold Analytics brings pro-level skating measurement to hockey associations, academies and leagues across Alberta — because the programs developing players here deserve the same tools the elite level takes for granted.

From the Ice at U of A
to the Data Room

I'm Stacey Phillips, a former University of Alberta hockey player.

Coaches gave feedback and trainers gave drills, but the measurable detail — where my edges were failing, where my stride was losing power — didn't exist at that level. We worked from impressions.

I started Ice Cold Analytics so programs here don't have to work from impressions. As the authorized Drive Hockey distributor for Alberta, I bring the same sensor technology used at the junior and professional level to associations, academies and leagues across the province.

Democratizing High-Performance Analytics

High-performance measurement used to be reserved for elite programs and professional scouts. We believe that's wrong. An association running tryouts at a community rink should be able to measure its skaters the same way a national combine does.

Ice Cold Analytics exists to close that gap — putting objective sensor data in the hands of the people running hockey programs in this province, so player development stops being something you claim and starts being something you can show.

Our Values

🏒

Accessibility

Pro-level measurement has no business stopping at the elite level. We built our model so a program can access it without buying equipment, carrying a software licence or hiring technical staff.

📊

Measurement

Opinions don't compound. Numbers do. Every skater measured the same way, on the same ice, under the same conditions — which is what makes a result mean something.

🌟

Community

We're rooted in the same hockey communities we serve. Alberta programs deserve the same quality of development tools as those in any major hockey market.

Powered by Drive Hockey

Every Ice Cold Analytics session runs on the Drive Hockey sensor platform — the same technology trusted by scouts and development programs at the junior and professional level. The portable system sets up in about 15 minutes, and we operate it ourselves.

  • Over 20 skating metrics measured automatically for every athlete
  • Top speed, acceleration, agility, deceleration and conditioning
  • Crossover and tight-turn profiles including entry, mid and exit speeds
  • Every score benchmarked against peers in the same age group
  • Nothing for your association to buy and nothing for your coaches to operate
  • One development report per athlete, plus a director summary across the group
